Oral Traditions of the Maya
In most indigenous societies much of the rich texture of their heritages comes to us through stories passed down from generation to generation. The Maya are no exception. Their oral traditions tell us much about who they are and where they came from. One of today’s Maya Elders who has achieved worldwide recognition for his deep understanding and ability to pass on the Maya legacy is Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj of Guatemala. In this session Miguel Angel continues the tradition by sharing with you some of Don Alejandro’s stories and achievements.
